Getting out of bed safely (log roll)

Protects a sore back or fresh surgery when getting up

How to do it

  1. 1Bend your knees and roll onto your side as one unit, keeping shoulders and hips together.
  2. 2Drop your feet over the edge of the bed.
  3. 3Push up with your arms into sitting as your legs go down.
  4. 4Pause before standing.

Avoid twisting; move shoulders and hips together.
