Stairs with a rail or stick
Climbing safely while a leg is healing
How to do it
- 1Going up: good leg first, then the affected leg, then the stick.
- 2Going down: stick first, then the affected leg, then the good leg.
- 3Hold the rail whenever there is one.
- 4Take one step at a time until you are confident.
Have someone with you on stairs for the first few days.
